Whole house A/C units will keep everything cool and dry. Six sliders open onto the main deck from the living area to form one large room, opening the home to the outside rainforest.

Abundant recessed dimmer controlled lighting throughout the home provide a soft comfortable glow for entertaining or relaxing. A comfortable place to spend your day is on the main deck.

Many birds including toucans, three types of monkeys, sloths, iguanas and the majestic Blue Morpho butterfly call this area home. One of our favorite times of the day is at dusk when the sounds of the day critters transition to the sounds of the night.

A gas grille on the deck is the perfect way to cook all of the fresh fish, chicken and vegetables that are available from the farmers market in town. Kitchen, Dining, Bedrooms & Bath: Our kitchen is tastefully designed with teak cabinets, granite countertops and quality stainless steel appliances.

All expected small appliances are provided including an ice maker. A very complete set of utensils, pots and pans will make creating your own meals a delight.

A breakfast island and wet bar for four invite you to linger and share a laugh or two with friends. The Guanacaste wood dining table has seating for six.

Both bedrooms feature king sized beds and quality bedding. Store your personal belongings in the beautiful matching armoires and nightstands.

A remote controlled, A/C unit plus ceiling fans assure a comfortable nights rest. Individual private covered decks with large sliders bring the outside in and give you a quiet place to sit and read or to enjoy the sounds and sights of the rainforest.

Each of the two full baths are finished with sandstone floors and shower enclosures. Teak counters, vessel sinks, rainfall shower heads and mood lighting complete the rooms.

Our House Manager: Our house manager is a fifteen year resident of the area and the owner of a local tour booking company. 'Wavy' Dave can book a local tour, activity or charter fishing boat for your enjoyment.

Guiones is for beginners of all ages from 5-80 years . The beginners do all their learning surfing in the whitewater of the shorebreak with no rocks or reef.

There are 3 surf schools next to and a short walk from us-- including Corky Carroll's Surf School next to us; and Juan Surfo's Surf School and a well-stocked surf store 175 yards north just past the Gilded Iguana. Within `200 yards of us and an easy walk are many fine-dining and casual restaurants,shops,bars, a sophisticated communications center (=Nosaranet and with DVD rentals and used book exchange ),and Patti's upscale well-stocked Grocery Air-Conditioned Mini- Mart with fresh produce,vegetables,Tico Times newspaper,etc.

FF's Manager Antonio has caught many large fresh Guiones Lobsters for many of our small and large Guest families. He and Guests fish on his Guiones boat(Panga) for Tuna(Atun),Snapper(Pargo),etc.

His family owns a local Fish market one mile away in Esperanza-town. PRIVATE CHEFS: Maria &staff can serve as your Breakfast chefs,etc ; Schedule with Antonio & Maria when you arrive ; Guests buy the groceries and pay chef/chefs $5/hr directly for cooking/clean-up.

The flower fields are wonderful depending on the season and one of the most beautiful sights Carlsbad has to offer, The Strawberries are of the best in the world grown at the World Famous Carlsbad Strawberry Fields.

This fishing fleet hauls in the day's catch every morning around 9 o'clock and the bounty is available for purchase. The boardwalk is a popular place to ride bicycles or roller-blade; there are many places near the pier to rent equipment for you to explore up and down the city's coast.

With a fantastic view from the balcony though, relaxing and watching the excitement of the beach is also a great way to spend the afternoon. Recently refurnished from the new carpet, paint, baseboards and tiled floor to the new couches, tables and bedroom decor, the interior of this unit has undergone a number of changes to give it a fresh, new look.

The kitchen also has a new stove and oven, as well as a number of new kitchen appliances, such as pots, pans and a blender. Close to all Southern California attractions such as Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm.

Lattice House has been featured in the Feb. 2008 issue of the Costa Rican architecture magazine, Su Casa, and in the recently published book 1000 X Architecture of the Americas.

Lattice House is conveniently located half-way between Dominical and Uvita, right off the coast highway. You won�t have to spend your valuable vacation time driving up and down mountain roads to enjoy incredible views and privacy.

The reserve encompasses large park-like spaces and even more area maintained as jungle--primary rain forest and old secondary. In any direction, you see only white water coastline, mountains, or rain forest.

On any given day, you may see (and hear) howler and white-face monkeys, coaties, tayras, agouties, sloths, toucans, aracaries, hummingbirds, parrots, and dozens of other bird species, all from the house decks. Lattice House with its spectacular South Pacific Coast views of the Whale�s Tail and the Osa Peninsula, the surrounding mountains and jungle, and its indoor/outdoor design is the ultimate tropical luxury vacation home.

The house was designed by Costa Rican architect Alvaro Rojas with design features by Balinese architect Ketut Arthana. Custom designed finishes and furnishings--stone floors, windows and doors, lattice work, cabinets, furniture and accessories were imported from Bali under the direction of developer & designer Michael McCoy.

The house was completed in 2007 by JYJ Construcciones. Lattice House was featured in the Feb.

Two bedrooms (one queen; one king or two twins) are on the lower level. All have ocean views.
